The Smith Household

Hello everyone. We haven't been up to much lately. I guess we are just recovering from the holidays! Doug and I celebrated our 5 year anniversary on January 2...WOW...have we really been married 5 YEARS?? Doug started back at school this week, which means that I am busy finding ways to keep Noah busy Tuesday and Thursday nights so that he doesn't keep asking "Where's Daddy?". He is definitely a daddy's boy! Leah is teething, so she has been a grump. Aside from her fussiness, she has started to pull herself up onto her feet AND she has finally decided to start crawling. She is now everywhere, so I have had to re-baby proof the house so that she doesn't get into stuff that she shouldn't. Here are some pictures...

Standing up...this is a classic Leah smile.
UM...GO UTES!!!! They should be #1. They are in my book!
Leah has been doing a lot of this...so much, in fact, that I take pictures of her crying!
This is what she looks like 5 seconds after the last picture was taken. She's really good!
Ahh...Doug got me roses for our Anniversary! So sweet :).
Noah LOVES his choo-choo train.
I love this little boy to pieces! He's the BEST!
Look...Noah can pose for the camera!
Leah crawling! Yay!

The Grand Spa at the Grand America is going to be putting a "four handed massage" on their menu, so today we all got together for training for it. This is one of my favorite massages to recieve. If you have never had the opportunity to have two people work on you at the same time - four hands at once, you have to do it.

This massage is pure bliss. Your body becomes so overstimulated that you literally melt into the table. Each therapist mirrors the other. Whatever one does, so does the other on the opposite side. You really have to be in tune and pay attention to the other therapist. I really have a hard life at the spa, having to get massages by two people at the same time for training!

I love working at the spa at the Grand America. They really cater to a high end of clientele which means big tips. I had the opportunity to work on two NBA players a couple of weeks ago and it was really fun. They were from the Nets and playing the Jazz. I'm working an extra day at the spa this year, so hopefully I will have more clients to work on.

On Tuesday we celebrated Nala's 5th birthday. She has been in our family for two years now. We love her so much because she gives us complete and total unconditional love and affection every minute of theday.

I took both dogs in the car to Petco, but only took Nala in with me. (I have vowed to never shop for pet items trying to control two BIG dogs on leashes). I let her sniff up and down the isles to pick out a special birthday treat. Of course she stopped at the squeeky toy isle (a new found favorite) and came across a monkey squeeky toy. She went crazy. Her tail wagging and nose sniffing and tried to bite it, so I knew it was the one.

Well, since our dogs are like our kids, Kramer tried to steal the new monkey all night. I think next time I will buy two treats for the dogs and then they will be happy. It's like having kids trying to teach them to share.

That's what's happening lately with us. I think more people in our family should post what's going on with them and more pics! We would love to hear from everybody!

2009 Post Number 2

Thanks Trev for being the first one to post this New Year!!!!! It has been a very good year for me and Sam as well. The top thing on my list is my new little Granddaughter Leah. She will be a year old on March 21 and the Noah kid will be 3 (yes that is right 3) on April 12!!!!!
I have no New Years Resolutions for this year. Always say but never do. Only want to have another nice year with pleasant surprises and fun times.

The year has started off incredibly though. THEM THERE UTES WERE JUST AWESOME IN THE SUGAR BOWL!!!! Angie and Doug were very very HAPPY!!

Thanks for being my family. A girl couldn't ask for any more than that. Well maybe a few more bucks would be nice.

Love you all!!!!

2009!!!

Well, I'll be the firs to write since I have not do so much, for the first of the year!

Crazy that another year has come and gone! Feels like yesterday that I was in high school still, well in some ways I guess I still am.. LOL

This year I hope to get a Full time supervisor job with Costco at either the Sandy one or the new one hopeful being build out at 104th S. and Bangerter Highway.

I Know Heidi would like to work more with infant massage as she is now a licensed instructor of it. I know she also wants to have a private practice at some point. (When she get closer to that, you will all need to come see her to help build her clientele).

Well, Happy new year fam!

Love ya all, God Bless!!!
